It's been a trying week, I'm so glad it's finally Friday! About work, my week has been trying to learn more new things and adapting to the workstyles and expectations of individuals whom I'm working closely with in my new role. More conference calls to come; managing the different time zones and getting to know and work with new people. Well, both fun and not-so-fun. On the other not-so-nice aspect, I'm feeling much better now and things getting better. :)
This week is quite an emotional one as well. Hmm I have told some of you before that I sensed the probable manpower reduction in my company when my boss asked me how I feel about that similar question posed during our department meeting two weeks ago. This started me to worry when I was actually quite cool about the whole thing. We have received emails from the head office today about seven colleagues based in N.A who have been affected by reductions-in-force and will be leaving us end of this month, and a few of them whom I have either met them in person or worked with them via emails before. My colleague and I can't help to think if this is just the beginning if the economy continues to worsen.
I'm so glad that my cousin is working in the same building as me, plus 2 friends working near me. So I can meet them for lunch sometimes . :) And another cousin of mine who has just started work at UOB building. Happy that you got converted to perm, qi :) If anyone of you happen to pass by somewhere near my workplace during lunch hours someday, let me know ya! I'll bring you to nice eating places! :)
On a side note, I have just finished watching a Hong Kong drama -Seventh Day- currently showing on SCV. Haha simply love this drama... the cast, the plot, the storyline, the way it's directed and shoot & more... It's a romance-comedy, but get heart-rending toward the end. Not at all a girlish drama, my bro is watching it too! Nice =P
